Camping Gear

You need to bring all your own camping gear.  If you prefer to stay in a nearby hotel there are options in the nearby town of Olympia.

Pens and Paper to do The Work will be provided

If you like to journal or have your own Workbook you might want to bring these 

Food and Cooking 

There is no food provided at the camp, please bring your own.  We do provide a celebration meal on the saturday night which is included in the price of your ticket. However if you have a special diet this may not be suitable for you

We are in the shade of the trees however the nearby lake (which you can swim in) has lots of sunny areas to sunbathe if the weather is clear

Rain Gear

Although we meet in the dry season you are in the Pacific North West will is famous for the temperate rain forest climate.  Be prepared for all weathers. 

Mosquitoes

While they are not a huge problem, many people like to bring their own organic or DEET chemical bug spray.  We have citronella candles. If we are allowed to burn candles.

Camping
Our group camp area has rustic camping areas on bare ground within the trees. You
need to bring all your own camping equipment.It can get quite cold at night and might
be wet- make sure you’re prepared for the weather.


When you arrive:
Come to the Group Camp site to the left as you face the serviced gate station. And set
up your tent in any of the available marked areas.


Parking
If you are staying at the Group Camp site, we have the parking slip for you. You will
need to leave the parking slip in your car (on your dashboard to show the slip) to avoid
getting the parking violation ticket.


Hotel Information
If you prefer to not camp and stay off site, you are responsible to book your own hotel
room. Below are some suggested Tumwater area hotels. They are about 20 to 30
minutes from the campsite.

Meals and Food
Participants are responsible for their own meals, except Saturday night. Saturday night
we will have a group celebration and meal. We try to ensure this meal will be healthy
and balanced and yummy and try to take into account basic dietary needs including
vegetarian, and gluten free. Guests are welcome to join us for Saturday night dinner.
Please let us know if you expect to bring someone and there is a $20 fee for this meal.
For camp participants, your meal is included in the fee.

 


Cancellation Policy


1. Cancellations: There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50. All
cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to
campfortheworkofbyronkatie @ gmail.com.

 

If your cancellation is received 10 days or less before the event, there is no refund and you will receive a 20% discount for the next year’s camp. If the camp happens. You have no claim if there is no camp. If the cancellation is more than 10 before the
event starts you will receive your camp fee back less the $50 administration fee.


2. If the event needs to be canceled by your Camp for The Work Event Hosts
for any reason (natural disaster, public health) you will receive a full refund.

restrictions.
There are often burn bans in State Parks during the summer months and dry seasons.
This is very likely in late August. We will provide firewood for fires if they are allowed.
